You learn a lot when records become public.
As more and more dioceses around the country declare bankruptcy in the face of a flood of sex abuse lawsuits, bankruptcy is proving to be a double-edged sword for the bishops.
First, and very important to understand, their declaring bankruptcy has nothing to do with not having the money (or resources) — they do. It has everything to do with preventing victims from gaining access to it.
And even before bankruptcy, dioceses, like the one here in Detroit under the leadership of the duplicitous Abp. Allen Vigneron, take proactive steps to shield their assets. A couple of years ago, Vigneron and his complicit legal team from Bodman schemed up a crafty plan.
They took all of the diocese's assets and shifted them into a brand new company called Mooney Real Estate Holdings, which officially has nothing to do with the archdiocese. The only member of the corporation is Abp. Allen Vigneron.
So, officially, all of the assets of the archdiocese no longer belong to the archdiocese, and, therefore, the archdiocese can't be sued for them. We'll see if that legal maneuver holds up in court when the lawsuits are revealed here in Michigan (expected later this year).
Remember that the state attorney general's office raided the Detroit chancery a while back and has been sifting through boxes of confiscated files since then. But the move in Detroit by Vigneron points to the larger issue that bishops are now having to face the music for their immoral, sinful and (perhaps) criminal actions of covering up sex abuse for decades, burying the cases in archives and hoping they just get forgotten about.

A model of corruption.
It doesn't take much to know about the big scandals in the Church, especially surrounding the whole gay thing in the clergy. Those scandals, because of the big names involved, break out of the Church bubble and into the mainstream press. Scandals like McCarrick and his career of sexual assault, the Pennsylvania grand jury report, Cdl. Dolan bestowing his blessing on the gay marriage advocates in the St. Patrick's Day Parade, for example. Those are big names, big events — and generate big headlines. However, those are not the business-as-usual cases we here at Church Militant are made aware of frequently.
While we obviously cover those big stories, there are quite a few that slip past the Marxist media, except for a brief mention locally. For example, right here in Detroit, the recently appointed auxiliary bishop, Paul Fitzpatrick Russell, has been named in a lawsuit with pretty damning allegations. Those allegations claim that when he was a priest in the archdiocese of Boston, he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy more than two dozen times while stationed at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart parish in Lynn, Massachusetts. But as Abp. Allen Vigneron and his corrupt chancery prove time and again, there is a massive double standard always at play.

Very significant!
Today is June 15, 2022, and that's a pretty significant day here at Church Militant. First, it's the day we officially became ChurchMilitant.com, the online presence of St. Michael's Media, which is the actual name of the apostolate.
Church Militant long-timers will recall that for the first few years, we were known as RealCatholic.tv. But that was before Allen Vigneron, the deceitful archbishop of Detroit, and his malicious chancery staff got involved and painted a false picture to the public of us not being allowed to use the name "Catholic" in our title. They produced a statement that was massively deceptive in its wording.
It's true that the website was called RealCatholic.tv back in the day, but it was not ours. A supporter who lived out of state — and not under the jurisdiction of Vigneron — registered the site and asked us to put our videos on it.
Vigneron knew this because we informed him when he started making noise about us. He knew because his chancery henchmen actually wrote to the supporter and told him to stop using the word "Catholic" in the title. The supporter replied that he wasn't under Vigneron's jurisdiction, so Vigneron should mind his own business.
Undeterred by facts, on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 — the day before the chancery went home for Christmas break — Vigneron issued a statement craftily worded to make it seem as though we were somehow disobedient and in violation of the Code of Canon Law.

Because of homosexual bishops.
A couple of weeks back, the archbishop of Detroit, Allen Vigneron, in line to be the next president of the U.S. bishops conference, publicly bemoaned to the faithful that, for the first time in generations, the Detroit archdiocese would have no men ordained to the priesthood.
In fact, Detroit's track record for ordinations under Vigneron has been nothing less than abysmal, ordaining fewer than 50 men in his going-on 14 years as archbishop here. In the past 10 years, specifically, he's ordained just 42 men to the priesthood while, over those same ten years, 125 Detroit priests either retired or died. But at least he can pass the buck and say, "it's not my fault, it's happening everywhere."
On that score, at least, it would be the most truthful thing he's ever said during his reign over Detroit. Church Militant contacted every archdiocese in the country and compiled their numbers for ordinations this year. Here's what we found — for the 34 archdioceses in the United States, there will be, this year, almost 100 ordinations. That is not only beyond pathetic, it is completely unsustainable.
Consider that 40% of all Catholics in the United States live in those archdioceses, 28 million souls. And yet, there will only be 100 newly ordained priests to serve their spiritual needs. That breaks down to just one priest for every 280,000 Catholics. Good thing most Catholics don't go to Mass or believe the Faith because, if they did, the few priests there are would not be able to keep up. The premiere diocese in the country, New York, also will ordain no one this year.

The secret way in.
When Church Militant broke the story last year that the music director of the archdiocese of Detroit, Joe Balistreri, was/is an open homosexual, was living with his sodomite partner and it was a pretty much open secret in the Detroit chancery, we didn't realize just how right we were.
As a refresher, recall the secret surveillance footage that got the ball rolling on his "separation" from the archdiocese and the empty words from the chancery in language crafted by attorneys to deliberately obscure the truth from the faithful.
We heard through the grapevine (which is very extensive here in the homosexual-friendly archdiocese run by the homosexual-friendly Archbishop Allen Vigneron) that plenty of people were ticked at his outing — including the archbishop himself, who sources tell Church Militant still regularly inquires about Balistreri through various mutual acquaintances.
Some sources also tell us that Balistreri walked away with a pretty tidy sum of money in exchange for keeping his mouth shut about all the gay-clergy skeletons he knows about. In fact, it would seem, from his own recent words in a speech he gave, that the gay network under Vigneron runs quite deep here in Motown.
See, there's a heck of a lot admitted in those words from Balistreri (remember, an open homosexual living with his partner), who, sources tell us, was known by Vigneron and/or his various chancery officials. His own words — that chancery types were warning him to watch out for getting outed — seem to confirm all we have reported about Vigneron for some time, that he is part of the homosexual clerical network to at least some degree.

Not really.
Almost everywhere you go in the Church today, you see all the signs of total collapse.
For example, in Detroit, in what has become emblematic of the destruction of the Church in the United States, yet another empty church has met the wrecking ball (All Saints) in a once-thriving Catholic area of the city.
These images were captured by Church Militant less than a day before the mural of Our Blessed Mother, which had been in the sanctuary for decades, was smashed by the demolition crew. Within the next few days, all of this will be torn down — a living testament to the death of the archdiocese under its corrupt archbishop, Allen Vigneron.
This is all fitting, of course, since the demolition of the Church in America began right here in Detroit under the notorious Cdl. John Dearden, the same man who ordained Vigneron. In 1990, there were more than 400 parishes here. When Vigneron hands in his retirement letter in about 20 months, he will have overseen one of the most unimaginable contractions of the Church in the whole nation — down to what amounts to about 50 parishes, thanks to a clever and canonically illegal scheme he calls "families of parishes."
Yet another example of "managing the decline" is what corporate America calls "going out of business."
It's a deceptive way of making it seem like there are more parishes than there actually are — yet more trickery from a trickster and a deceptive-minded hierarchy that has raised its craft to an art form. So looking to the future, where do we go? What exactly are we looking at?

I'm coming to you from the studios of Church Militant, headquartered in the archdiocese of Detroit. For about 15 years, this archdiocese and Abp. Allen Vigneron have persecuted this apostolate for nothing more than teaching and preaching the truth. I have now had my own experience of that very thing when Allen Vigneron worked behind the scenes trying to prevent me from speaking to a private group this week.
Well, people living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Why don't you clean up your own chancery, Allen, instead of wasting your time worrying about me? What you've done to Fr. Perrone is a disgrace. What you allowed members of your chancery to do to that holy priest is a disgrace. And yes, I am ready, willing and able to inform the people about that disgrace.

He's a sneak.
The degree of sneakiness and duplicity and cowardice and just plain old overall mean-girl approach exhibited by Abp. Allen Vigneron in Detroit is astounding. Not only does he lack any measurable degree of strength by dispatching his underlings to do his dirty work, but he's the one sitting behind the scenes making the balls while others throw them. Real men don't operate like this.
The latest is his threat to a lay group here in Detroit that organizes the annual conference, "Call to Holiness."
It is strictly a lay group with a priest from the archdiocese of Detroit on the board just to "make nice." The archbishop doesn't get to decide anything about what this independent group does. But when word got around that Fr. James Altman was the guest speaker at the upcoming conference, Vigneron went into high gear — behind the scenes, of course.
He sent his auxiliary bishop (José Arturo Cepeda) to the group via a Zoom call and ordered him to tell the people that Vigneron didn't approve of Fr. Altman — that he had concerns. A copy of the call was smuggled to Church Militant, much to Vigneron's displeasure.

Who needs to go.
Yesterday, we told you about the implosion of a wicked bishop in Crookston, Minnesota who was forced to resign for covering up charges of sex abuse to protect a bad priest. Today, we're sliding over to Detroit to tell you about another horrible bishop, who, in this case, manufactured charges of sex abuse to get rid of a good priest. We are not kidding when we repeatedly say that you cannot make this stuff up.
Almost two years ago, Abp. Allen Vigneron sent his goons from the chancery to lie to the parishioners at Assumption Grotto that their pastor, Fr. Eduard Perrone, was being removed from the parish and all priestly ministry because of a credible charge of sex abuse from 40 years prior. All of it was a fantastic lie manufactured by Vigneron and his chancery to sideline Perrone, a well-known orthodox priest considered an enemy by the gay clerical mafia so dominant in Detroit.
Following the announcement at the noon Mass on July 4th weekend, Msgr. Michael Bugarin (Vigneron's hitman for good clergy) was confronted by various parishioners who rightly refused to believe his lies. All he said over and over again was, "Trust the process."
Of course, Vigneron and Bugarin had rigged the process against Fr. Perrone so that also was a lie. Almost 20 months later, the Vatican ruled against Vigneron and Bugarin, saying there was nothing to their case, as Church Militant had reported from the beginning.

What's good for the goose, after all.
Church Militant has become aware that dozens of requests from faithful Catholics have flooded into the papal nuncio's office in Washington, D.C. requesting that Abp. Allen Vigneron be removed from his seat in Detroit and a formal investigation into sexual abuse–cover-up begin regarding him. This is the required protocol laid out directly by Pope Francis when a bishop or archbishop himself is accused of abuse cover-up.
The pope's directives were mandated following the so-called sex abuse summit in Rome in February 2019, following the previous "Summer of Shame" where the McCarrick revelations all came pouring out. If you will recall, according to the directives, when a high-ranking archbishop is accused of either actual sex abuse himself or covering it up, he must be removed from his post while an investigation begins, initiated by the papal nuncio (the Vatican's ambassador to the United States).
The case against Vigneron keeps mounting, as he is named in two civil lawsuits, in each one accused of covering up sex abuse. In both cases, the accused priest hid out on archdiocesan property before fleeing the country — "sneaking out in the dead of the night" comes to mind. In each case, Vigneron had independent knowledge of charges of abuse by each priest but completely disregarded the information.
In the first case, he allowed the accused predator priest, Fr. Miroslaw Krol, to become chancellor of Orchard Lake Schools, where additional cases of sexual harassment and revenge allegedly occurred as laid out in the first lawsuit. Vigneron is on the board and was told firsthand about Krol's history. He ignored the warnings and was the celebrant at Krol's installation Mass.
