So I have no love for the Catholic Church at all.
However, when I'm not just shitposting and/or ballbusting, I try to be fair.
I don't think the Catholic Church actually wants to have pederasts in the ranks of priests, etc. I think that the position just attracts them because of the opportunity to be alone with kids, like teachers (higher indecent rate) and Scoutmasters (this deeply saddens me).
Additionally, in their zeal to appear without blemish, the Catholic Church used to (and maybe still does) cover for them, rather than report and remove them.

We barely tried because we barely cared, and we did it.
