Former Marxist devoted life to exposing the subversion of the Church.

As the Soviet Union communists penetrated major institutions in the United States, including the Church, some of their espionage activities started coming to the surface. Many people are already familiar with the notorious case of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg and their stealing of the atomic bomb secrets for the Soviets.

But that was specific government infiltration to get at military information to neutralize the United States' atomic advantage. What was not as widely known was the deep penetration into other aspects of American life — specifically religion.

In sworn testimony before the U.S. Congress in 1953, former communist (turned Catholic revert) Bella Dodd broadly outlined the Soviet plan for working with Catholics:

At different times in the history of the Communist Party, they emphasized the fact that it was possible for you to be religious and, at the same time, communist. But those were the periods in which they were trying to win over larger numbers of, let's say, Catholic trade-unionists, Catholic workers, and so forth and so on. Those were the periods which were called the periods of extending the hand of communism to the people in the religious groups. What you did was to say substantially this: 'These men have a blind spot. They believe in God, but we communists know that there is no God. But in order to get them to work with us, we will work with them on a minimum program.' As a matter of fact, even when you were in the Communist Party, the Communist Party from time to time established committees like the — there was a committee on Catholics for Human Rights, which consisted of communists who had been Catholics, whose purpose it was to work with mass organizations which had a large number of Catholics.

It would be incorrect to think of Soviet communist infiltration into the world of Catholicism as some cloak-and-dagger effort with thousands of secret agents wandering the halls of seminaries with decoder rings and midnight liaisons, for example. The much larger, by far and away, effort was made by simply targeting certain individuals as well as leaders of various groups who could be persuaded that at least in many areas, Catholics and communists have common goals they could work on together (for the betterment of mankind, you know).

In short, they tricked them, finding a "soft spot" or "blind spot" they could capitalize on down the road. And they did. They hunted out what we could term "sympathizers." Dodd and other former communists all came forward in those early years of the 1950s and testified the same thing — that it was not really secret communists planted all over religious and other institutions, but associations made where the commies could convince their targets they could, and should, work together.

The strategy to enlist sympathizers paid off handsomely. Why take the chance of having spies uncovered in colleges and media and churches when "locals" could do your dirty work for you? As we see looking around now, in the Church specifically, it worked like a charm. There may be here or there, in key roles in the Church, truly committed communists, but that's nowhere near as effective as having hundreds if not thousands of brainwashed useful idiots spouting your "social justice" vocabulary for you.

Antonio Gramsci's anti-Catholic plan proved Joseph Stalin wrong.

In order for communism to succeed in the West, a massive deconstruction, a demolishing of the culture, would have to occur. However, the commies were not operating in a vacuum, and they knew it. You can't just blow into town and start uprooting everything.

Perhaps a better way to visualize this would be to think in terms of tipping the scales. When one side is greatly lower, you can get the scales to tip by either just adding more weight to the other side or slowly adding more weight while at the same time subtracting weight from the opposite side.

Of course, the second method requires more time and patience and planning, but, at the end, it is the more effective way to actually flip the scales. This was the plan the communists put into effect.

Ultimately, it was all about transforming society slowly, methodically and extremely effectively, so that as one generation gave way to the next, the transformation would hardly be noticeable. It was an extremely ambitious and, most importantly, wide-ranging strategy, one that required capturing various institutions of society at approximately the same time.

If you think in terms of, say, planning a big meal with all sorts of dishes, you need to make sure that the timing is right — all the food has to hit the table at the same time.

Because they are different dishes, some require much advance prep work; others, not as much. But they all need to come off the stove and out of the oven at the same instant. Well, the same is true of the commie plan to undermine the culture.

What all the institutions actually had in common was their at least tacit acceptance of Christian principles (and, specifically, Catholic principles) on how a well-ordered society should run and look.

Gramsci clashed with Joseph Stalin on the issue of what was the greater challenge to creating the "workers' paradise," capitalism or the Catholic Church. For Gramsci, it was clear: Catholicism, because he understood the vital knitting together of the other institutions relied on the underlying view of man promoted and taught by the Church.

The Prison Notes Of Polish Catholic Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski – Roosh Valizadeh

Stefan Wyszynski was a Catholic bishop in Poland who was imprisoned by the Polish communists after World War 2 for resisting the agenda to destroy the Church and turn Poland into an atheist state. Thanks in part to his efforts, the Catholic Church of Poland actually grew during communism as Poles sought out meaning not provided by the empty materialism of communism. Bishop Wyszynski is seen today as a Polish hero who stood by his faith and his people. A Freedom Within: The Prison Notes of Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski is a memoir of his experience as a prisoner.

Dealing with unjust authority

If a citizen does not demand his rights, he is no longer a citizen. He becomes a slave.

…any form of government, no matter how ruthless, will slowly cool and wane as it runs up against difficulties that the bureaucrat cannot resolve without cooperation from the people. Somehow the people must be taken into account.

It is significant to note how little contemporary men learn from history. Mighty empires fell more quickly as they increased the intensity of their violence.

We can take examples from ancient history: weaker countries often managed to survive longer than states ruling with slavish tyranny. Recent examples could also be cited (Hitler’s state). The ruler seeks peace, and so do the citizens. Let the ruler leave the citizens in peace, and he will achieve peace himself and be able to maintain peacefully all he possesses. The ruler fears revenge against his violence. Police states are violent states. In conditions such as these, only a priest can find a way to defend the citizens.

They proposed that I select a monastery in which to stay, a new mutually acceptable place, to promise not to leave the premises, to abstain from any declarations and statements, to counteract any petitions and manifestations. I declined to answer.

My place is in the cathedrals of Gniezno and Warsaw. I can discuss only that. I cannot cooperate in deliberations newly depriving me of my freedom; that would only make me a voluntary prisoner. The voluntary surrender of freedom is an expression of a citizen’s moral ruin. If today I refused to defend my right to freedom, I would not be able to defend the freedom of my country if the need should arise. Only a free citizen is able to defend his freedom. A citizen oppressed in his own country cannot hope to defend it.

Demons by Fyodor Dostoevsky is a story about a revolutionary cadre that attempts to wreak havoc on a Russian village as part of their quest to overthrow the traditional order. It features intense psychological descriptions and analysis by Dostoevsky to reveal the deep-seated emotions and feelings that drive revolutionary behavior.

Losing touch with God

You may be sure that all those who cease to understand their people and lose their connection with them, at once, in the same measure, also lose the faith of their fathers, and become either atheists or indifferent.

Revolutionary ideas were sweeping Russia at the time. Dostoevsky himself was caught up in the fervor and served time in prison for his activities. Being spared execution by the Tsar at the last moment served as his spiritual awakening, allowing him to recede from the darkness and become a force of tradition and Orthodoxy.

The modern drive to “progress” can be understood as destroying any sense of faith and order possessed by the preceding generations. It may be hard to believe, but many humans today still retain some logos within them which makes today’s revolutionary movement that much more worrisome, because once the remainder is removed from those who rightly believe that a man is a man and a woman is a woman, and both should have the ability to seek their daily bread, materially and spiritually, what will be left? The horrors of the 20th century will pale in comparison to what we will soon face.
