With Newton's First Law of Motion in mind, I doubt the stop would be sudden. I'd expect a gradual slowdown.
Then again, who knows?
@Vermillion-Rx second naltrexone. Miracle drug. It at least helps just slowing down and stopping the drinking to allow you to escape the binging cycle. Look into the Sinclair Method
It asserts that Earth has experienced Pole Flips in the past, and it's rotation has temporarily stopped, causing a sloshing of the Oceans.
...that's certainly one aspect of what would happen if the Earth suddenly stopped rotating.
A more complete and accurate description, as I understand it, would be to imagine every living thing on the planet driving a car down the highway at, depending on your latitude, a couple hundred to just over 1k mph and suddenly running into a reinforce concrete wall.
The only thing living in a fancy bunker is going to accomplish in such a scenario is limiting the surface area over which your remains will be spread.

AFIK - the gold ads are something new, within the last month as I was away from home and didn't use the site during that time.
I would not be surprised to learn they plan on moving into their bunkers when completed. No point in prepping on that scale just to wait elsewhere for shit to hit the fan.
