That's always mystified me. Yes, if you can avoid dealing with the cops, do so, but if you're already in the shit your best bet is to not make his job any more difficult than it has to be, even if the officer is being an asshole and blatantly in the wrong. Do your best to document the bad behavior, lawyer up and take it through the system. Being belligerent and fighting an officer in the moment is only going to make things worse.

I replied to a violent cop video saying the cop was wrong but if people want to avoid crazy cops hurting them they should comply with arrest and handle it while cuffed or at the station instead of risking their safety and a bunch of people replied with legally illiterate hot takes about their civil liberties and poor judicial understanding
