@Vermillion-Rx hell i didnt know what it meant. Why would she know? The term sounds gross
About 10-12 years ago, I actually wanted a Tesla. I liked the idea of not spending so much on gas, and I also liked how much of the space that would have been taken up by the engine, fuel tank, etc in a regular car was instead taken up by steel reinforcements.
Then Atlanta had a freak ice storm (hardly ever happens there), which hit during rush hour gridlock. Lots of commuters' cars were frozen to the interstates.
The poor saps who had Teslas ran out of power within an hour or two and were tapping on strangers' windows to ask to come in and warm up.
Right away I decided "fuck that!".
I looked further in to how long their charges last, and it's garbage. How long it takes to recharge is even worse.
What trips I could do in 8 hours and a full tank of gas in a regular car, would require an overnight stop and recharge in a Tesla. Whatever I "saved" on gas would be spent and then some on recharging fees and a goddamn hotel room!
And idiots all over the country, but especially in California and the federal government, have been pushing to replace all regular vehicles with EVs.
I hope the would-be evacuees who couldn't leave LA serve as a lesson to everyone about how much EVs actually suck.

1) when you misuse words like that, you ruin them and rob them of any actual meaning. Think of how feminists/bloopies will call any man who criticizes any woman for any reason an "incel", or how leftists will misuse the word "racist". Those two words (and many others) have completely lost their meanings due to misuse, and are just reduced to empty mouth noises.
2) incorrectly calling someone a "boomer" (which isn't even an insult) is like incorrectly calling someone an "Indian" or "gypsy" or "Mexican". You're not actually insulting the other person, but rather telling anyone following along "I'm a fucking idiot!"
3) with numbers 1 and 2 in mind, anyone who misuses words like that is a total faggot! Vcards for all three of you homos!

@Goingthedistance It sounds like you are doing all the right things, building the big picture of your life and when the pieces are all in place women usually turn up. Don't worry about the late blooming. Many of us were late bloomers.
Its often easier to see from the outside when there are too many red flags than when you are on the inside. You are supposed to see good in her, you are supposed to bond to her and trust in the relationship (if you are not broken from too much casual sex or failed relationships).
I always tell my children that the time to decide if someone is right for you is not when you have been dating a while but "Before you say hello". I don't mean before you are introduced (because that would be plain impossible) but before you give any indicator of interest. Once you start something, it can gain its own inertia and the glasses are supposed to be rose tinted if you are not damaged. To avoid wasting time (and becoming disillusioned with love) one has to screen critically and with disinterest before deciding if you are even attracted to someone. Then the odds are whatever happens, it won't end too badly.
Obviously you can't make a perfect initial screen (because you don't know that much at first) but if you are only talking to people who pass that screen and who you really fancy physically, the chances of something like this happening again are less. If you had said "Claimed virgin, does that mean just plain frigid or medical problem or too mentally unsuitable, I must look deeper before chatting her up. I will talk to her just as an acquaintance". Then "Ah takes sleeping pills, yes there is a mental aspect here probably..."
It sounds like it will all work out well in the long term anyway. You have the macros falling into place.
