Uncensored discussion of the four-year dark winter predicted by and carried out by Biden

@WokeDown Maybe you’re not wrong and the climate will tip too far on balance in that direction and we’ll live through some truly terrible times.
My argument is that it is absurd to believe that the Earth has and will continue to remain at a perfectly balanced level.
I know it isn’t news to anyone here but the Earth is a delicate Petri dish of chemical reactions that is at the mercy of grand cosmic events that could snuff us out in the blink of an eye. Yellowstone could erupt, trigger the San Andreas fault and then it’s goodnight America and all of these policies about reducing .1% are condemned to some footnote in the Akashic records.
A volcano erupts in Iceland and my carbon footprint for that year, and 10,000 or more people is instantly erased.
The magnetic poles shift and cause the earths orbit to shift a degree to the left, bringing our hemisphere closer to the sun increasing temperatures by 2 degrees on average, there goes the Paris climate agreement…
You get the point. Worrying about this or that to the point where you think we’re holding a knife to the planets throat is beyond insanity.
And of course, humanity adapts. Always has, always will. Human civilisation survived the ice age, conditions far more extreme than you could possibly imagine.
We’re going to be okay.

@MentORPHEUS I have, in no less than 4 replies, made it very clear and in no uncertain terms, have I faced and am clearly willing to address the angle of climate change - and refute it I have.
Here, have my angle on climate change in emoji form:
I value empirical evidence of mismanagement, apathy, destructive ideology and critical mass stupidity over some vague notion that you haven’t defined or substantiated.
I’m not sure who it is that will obligingly nod along when “climate change” is invoked, but it sure as fuck isn’t this audience.

@Stigma It won't happen for thousands of years, if that.
The people who too busy to deny global warming is happening miss the forest for all their favorite trees. At the end of the day, I don't worry about glaciers (although I should cause lots of drinking water), or about CO2 levels, getting heatstroke, whales being beached, people driving EVs or mopeds or birds flying into the propellers of wind turbines.
What I worry about is the two or three of really hot days needed to ruin crops. Specially the bread baskets of the world. The stuff that makes most of the calories that we and our industrial livestock eat. Ruin that, guess what? Famine, war, bad enough a dead civilization.
This is what people don't get. We were in a goldilocks zone. It had good rain, good temps, good weather. Now we're in something erratic and getting more erratic all the time. Temps can ruin crops. So can too much rain. Farmers like predictability because crops like some level of predictability. That's going away and fast.
At some point money won't buy some crops because the countries that grow them need them themselves. That's going to happen more and more.
I think the 2020s, for all it's fuckups, will be the last good decade. Maybe the 2030s. But I don't have much hope beyond that. It's gonna snowball.
Move where there is plenty of water. Have a gun and ammo and people you can trust and that have skills.

@Stigma Now adding personal insults to your dodging of the question and ignoring what has been written beyond just saying climate change.
You're not even willing to face and address the angle of climate change, much less refute it.

The topic: Wild fires in LA
My explanation: Bad policy, bad environmental management, ideology that allows for criminal behaviour to go unpunished
I’ve explained it numerous ways to you, I honestly don’t think it’s that difficult to figure out.
Feel free to offer a counter at any time, of course.
Just saying “climate change” leaves everyone here wanting.

@Stigma You are demonstrating your level of reasoning skills and engagement of the topic, or rather lack thereof, by your responses.
More stroking right wing talking point boners and steering the discussion to "lessers" that the reader can punch down upon. I see this as a widespread pattern failure and you as not rising above it.
Aside from ignoring and actively steering discussion away from the topic, can you bring any evidence that climate change is not a factor in the wildfires?

Go look at Glaciers then and now. The supermajority of the globe's glaciers are melting. You can look at 100+ year old photos dating at least 1880s in some cases, many of the US ones are in the national archive in outside WaDC. It ain't rocket science.
I’ve got good news for you!
When the climate cycle reaches a cooling period, the glaciers will return!
Yay!
Though I don’t much like the cold so hopefully the next ice age stays off for a while yet.

@MentORPHEUS Does the context of my previous replies cease to exist when we move to the next one?
Arson + retard state policies = devastating fires
It isn’t climate change making the fires worse, it is the people in charge of mitigating the circumstances… up to and including the Juan’s and the Jose’s criminal intent being excused and/or welcomed by the likes of Newsom.
Question, if you hadn’t eaten breakfast this morning how would you feel?

@woodsmoke "Not only is it built on bad data, it's generally also unfalsifiable in any practical sense"
The guys who calculated it were from the 1890s and before.

There. Falsify that.
In more real terms, more and more houses are becoming uninsurable because more and more states are becoming unprofitable without jacking the rate up. Thanks to the weather.

@Stigma Swing and a miss. You're dodging the question of climate change completely here. The assertion isn't that climate change CAUSED the fires, but that it results in greater extremes of all weather conditions. There exists a differentiation between PROXIMATE and REMOTE causation, and any given event almost always includes elements of both. The question asked was:
Name a couple of the most significant pieces of evidence you know that disprove that the fires are related to climate change
Additionally only the last arrest you cited happened even close to the wildfires that are in the news, and that citation as presented does not connect him to the wildfire.
