Discussion about the 5th gen war

@Stigma Imagine if they stopped all the vulnerable men from going to prison. Exclude all the fathers, then the ones with drug problems, then those who have suffered violence, then those who have been abused, then those with alcohol problems and so on. There would be almost no men tef to go to prison.
Why should this vulnerable argument work with women not men. Because Pussy pass. I hate pussy passes. Women need to check their privilege.
@Stigma Society selectively applies a libertarian perspective towards women (and other protected groups).
They are free to do as they please, and we must respect that right of theirs.
But when they use their freedom to commit harm, society then socialises the consequences rather than punishing them.

Women’s Justice Board begins plans to send fewer women to prison
Cutting crime and reducing the number of vulnerable women being sent to prison is top of the agenda at the first meeting of the Women’s Justice Board.
I hate the government with such a burning passion...
Before you burn London down again, might you be willing to consider public whippings?

@adam-l That’s a fair analysis. I’ve not seen the originals to make the comparison. I do believe Eggers is “hiding his power level” so to speak, and could have done more. Northman was certainly better, but I just find that his films capture an atmosphere that most films don’t, including Nosferatu. I was beginning to itch for it to end, though.

@Stigma I was hooked with the original (1922), liked Coppola's, was thrilled with Eggers' Northman, but this movie... no. Unoriginal, and without a clear point to make. It might have to do with Eggers trying to balance between his obsessions and the politically correct climate. Lukewarm.

@Stigma it's a shame I didn't see this til Tuesday (voices carry...).
I'm quite in favor of making this a Monday tradition.

Just got back from seeing Nosferatu.
I’m a big fan of Robert Egger’s work thus far. (The Northman, The VVitch, The Lighthouse). It’s a great depiction of vampires, actually fairly horrific and evil.
He makes great use of the setting and the culture of the period.
I’m almost certain there is some red pill depiction of “sticking your dick in crazy” and dealing with female hysteria. The main character doesn’t handle it well, but that’s the crux of it. A neat little abstract for calling to an evil entity to keep you company, anyhow.
Good film, great cinematography, another steady focus on European myths and legends.
