there have been instances when Islam has been open to the nurture of ideas and diplomacy
No, there have been individual Muslims who were either: a) not following the commands laid out in the Koran and Hadith, or b) practicing Taqiyya.
Islam itself is not tolerant, nor should it be tolerated.
Shii'te muslims are far less radical than Sunni muslisms,
Never heard of Jaysh Al-Mahdi, or various other shiite terrorist organizations huh?
I saw both sects up close during 3 tours in Iraq. You're speaking idealistically and from wishful thinking; I have studied Islam and seen it up close.
It is cancer.

@Typo-MAGAshiv The case of Islam is understandably hard to address. From my purely catholic POV; there have been instances when Islam has been open to the nurture of ideas and diplomacy; I mean, his warlike path aside, Saladin back in the Crusades was open to dialogue and trade with Christians, under certain circumstances that is.
My advice would be to keep looking for ways to barter and dialogue with members of Islam; Shii'te muslims are far less radical than Sunni muslisms, who represent the bulk of ISIS for example; keep looking for bridges, don't just burn them all down.

@derdeutscher we all do that, to some degree. We couldn't freely discuss men's issues in most RL spaces. Hell, the slogan of this website is "forbidden ideas".
But then there's just being a turd.

@Typo-MAGAshiv Because people can act how they want on the internet without consequences. Its paradise for disturbed people. Do you think he would say it if we sat together in a room?

Dude, that is actually a smart question.
I have lived in the west for a decade, then I moved back to Morocco for the last 6 years. And before the West I lived in multiple Middle Eastern countries.
So what do you want to know? The reason I left the West and moved back to Morocco is because back then the trend was obvious. Everything that made me idealize the West was bullshit, and I could see a clear trajectory: Decay in the West, Growth everywhere else.
So, what indicators matter to you most? Social, economic, safety, disparity, culture, governance etc.
Also, do you want me just to praise my country? or do you want to also hear the grievances I have? (I criticize my country more than I criticize the West).
Also, should I focus only on Morocco? Because Muslim countries are not a homogenous block (i.e. Indonesia is not Saudi Arabia, is not Turkiye is not Morocco, very very very different)
Help me focus my answer because I can make a whole study about the subject.
