This is true. I took it for granted that you were in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, or some other nation where men don't matter except as workhorses and sources of tax revenue.
If you live in a country where the woman is legally bound to hold up her end just like a man is, then go for it.
In the countries I listed, women are incentivized to dissolve the marriage.

It's difficult not to end up that way, but it's not completely impossible. But why make your life more difficult?

I have to correct myself, yes there is no reason to marry. I have a mental model in my mind that marriage equals having kids and a monogamous relationship with a woman.

The leading cause of divorce is marriage. So the best way to avoid the financial disaster (for men) of divorce is marriage.
Men are going to want to reproduce. And we want to be around to raise our children. So the least worst way of doing that is to find the least slutty woman that you can, and co-habit with her and stick around to raise your children.
She can of course still leave, but she will be more likely to stick around because she won't get as much money from you because you are not married (I know about co-habiting etc)

Trust me - if you really want to get settle down and have kids, just make sure you don't marry. You can hold it over her, and tell her that you can get married 'one day'.
But getting married is just insane with current rules. If Trump really wants to do something pro-family, he needs to radically reduce the massive cash incentives that women have for divorce rape. As a start, he could mandate 'gender blindness' for all courts. That would mean that in at least some cases, the house and kids would go to the father, and the mother would get stuck with maintenance payment orders.
THAT would make some great theatre! I can see the headlines now. Feminist tears!

1) he got married years before he started writing, well before men started waking up in significant numbers to what a trap it is.
2) marriage, as conducted by current laws and courts, is a trap and a terrible deal for men. You get nothing good out of it that you can't get while remaining unwed.
Take it from a guy who has been married for twenty years later this summer: marriage is a trap for men.
