@INNASKILLZ2K20 Bro, I think this is what you were getting at: youtu.be/zasr6dztvs8?t=1690 (Time stamped, just play it for a min)
So understanding the shadow is basically knowing the evil you're capable of because you see in yourself both the victim, and the oppressor? I understood this concept when I separated war as it is depicted in movies/games/books, and began inputting myself in the soldiers shoes.
To be frank, still in the ignoring phase for this concept. I still see through the lenses of strictly good or evil rather than the gray that is true reality.
@INNASKILLZ2K20 That youtube vid you linked is a video I didn't know I needed to watch. It's pretty good

@Hannibal It's interesting that, though, that in acceptance it doesn't mean I have to act on it.
It just means I don't 'deny' it.
I actually watched jordan Peterson talk about this recently. That the people who are comfortable with all parts of themselves, accept it and own it actually end up more mature, balanced and all.
I mean, there is a part of this where it isn't an intellectual process. It's a felt one. Owning our shadow leads to good things.
@Apollo Is there a place to view or read this debate? Especially Whisper's no chain answer.
@INNASKILLZ2K20 I feel the same way as well bro. Realizing just how much we are capable of as individuals and not all good, is a sobering thought.
Gandhi is more preferable than Timur. We need more Gandhi tbh

@Hannibal Nah, bro, I wasn't talking about you specifically.
I was more talking as a generalization.
I'm not actually too fussed about the whole issues specifically. I want out of all that shit. I understand some people are legitimately affected by it, and totally respect that.
My basic thing for me is trying to cultivate more acceptance that on a personal level I am capable of murder, evil, revenge, hate, resentment etc.
The more I can do that, the less judgement I have toward anyone on either side of the current conflicts.
I do believe, though, that something needs to shift in how many people are dealing with things. Hate and division leads nowhere, because we only hate and divide against ourselves.
Of course we do it. We get angry, pissed off, feel hard done by, feel hateful. Those are parts of us. But we somehow have to take responsibility to move through those things.
I sound like Gandhi, lmao. All of this is not easy, it's a lifelong process and very individual. But some are just possessed with projecting onto a scapegoat.
Read More@TiberiusBravo87 If you can point to me where I said whites are evil, please show me. Or whites are worse than blacks as well.
Whites and blacks have both done bad shit. One isn't a saint, and the other a devil. If you don't want to have a discussion that both groups have done terrible things, then don't. You can keep your opinions and I can respect them.
But don't misconstrue what I said.
Blacks have done terrible things. Whites have done terrible things. People do terrible things. Disagree? Ok.
@INNASKILLZ2K20 Yes I am. That's my point. I am just as bad as you are. If this statement doesn't sit right with you, I can respect it. Ignore it.
Don't play with the words though and come up with your own meaning of what you think I'm trying to say.
@Osiris I agree. People do bad shit. One can almost say we do more bad shit than good shit.
As for blaming you, dude what blame?
Read More@TiberiusBravo87 So Europeans never did anything in Africa? I don't know what you consider fact. Is Apartheid fake? Being second-class citizens in your own country is a totally normal and not bad thing?
What about what the Belgians did to the Congolese? If kids didn't meet their rubber quota, out comes arms and legs. Total fake or is this fact? This is not bad either?
I made it neutral. There are wrongs on each side, but you seriously came back and accused me of insinuating that white people did nothing bad?
Cool. Good to know.
@tchower Yeah dude, they shouldn't do that. I'm agreeing with you. This is surface level however.
Go deep, keep asking why and the answer is supremacy. What supremacy? Supremacy and subjugation of others. Why? Biology demands competition because winners accrue wealth, power, resources. Why? Our smart brains think of multiple reasons. 'It's for God', 'Our nation demands it', 'It's the right and moral thing to do', blah, blah blah.
Biology dictates >>> power, wealth and resources >>> Genes pass, genes survive, you win the game of life.
Socialism, capitalism, nazism, oligarchy. Name it whatever you want. Those in power control the resources, and are de-facto 'alpha'. Their children eat well, sleep well, and have a better chance of surviving so they could continue the line. Poor schmucks below, well you know that story.
Animal farm is a good book. Check it out
