@lurkerhasarisen Ok. I'll revisit this when I've studied some christian theology, which will probably be later than sooner.

@lurkerhasarisen well all this doesn't disprove what I said. It is still a possible interpretation. I guess the only real 'disproof' is if we go back in time and see what happened.
If that post was removed on paper, it doesn't mean that the church doesnt act in that capacity. Now you'll say 'true christians' don't act that way while catholics do. So we go round and round in circles...
Perhaps the church never established a universal hierarchy simply because it was incapable of it? Maybe once the entire globe has been theologically conquered the it will establish its hierarcy?

@lurkerhasarisen I can see why you think catholics are wrong. The priest class wasn't corrupt to begin with. It's an influential position and will attract corrupt people.

@Lone_Ranger Or maybe she's their handler. Who knows with these people?
Going with the RP answer, getting stuff without earning it a mark of high status right. Are you the loser who actually tried? Ha!
I'm reminded of this quote:
From time immemorial man has looked for a savior; and, when not looking for a savior, he is looking for a cure. He believes in paternalism. He is looking to get something for nothing, not knowing that the highest price we ever pay for anything is to have it given to us.
If anyone keeps getting what they want without any consequences or effort, they will become dull, dependent and incapable.
But I'm going to take this advice myself before saying it to women.

@lurkerhasarisen I know everyone in the West thinks of Indians as beneath them, as 'backwards dirt-eaters' for many reasons, including 'idolatry', so there's no point to me responding. Instead, here's an alternate interpretation of 'no graven images'. Forget about the divine for a moment. Think of strictly human affairs. The 'jealous god' is a ruler that doesn't want his subjects to leave him. In return they will be granted gifts. This ruler might also punish his subjects on a whim and later say that its a 'mystery' or a 'test'. A slight variation is that the rulers pretended their actions were inevitable and in the hands of God (who you can never talk to), they merely acted at the command of God (who you can't question, just trust the intermediary). But this ruler ruled from the shadows. He didn't want to be revealed to the public. Hence 'no graven images' for those who have spoken to him or seen him. Much better and total way of ruling over a population. Don't worry, I first applied this analysis to my own religion.
