I can describe the main cognitive difference between men and women this way:
Generally, men can't match the speed with which females process social dynamics in narrow circles (groups, cliques). That's because the processing runs on "system 1", instinctual level.
On the other hand, women can't generally fathom a developed man's thought process, because they completely lack, for evolutionary reasons, parts of the male System 2 thinking.
So, for example,a women can't grasp that her gender is as much of a domestic abuser as men, despite the statistics showing it clearly. And no amount of evidence can change her view.
