The only upside in my opinion is that he is too blue pilled to get laid regularly

The only upside I can see for him is that she actually lives close (maybe even with him).
I have a friend that is "Married" to a Woman that lives in Thailand. He gets to see her for about three weeks, twice a year.
AFIK - She can't get a Visitor Visa to come visit him in Canada (or, maybe just doesn't want to). I don't know how much money he sends her each month, on top of the frequent crisis calls he gets. They aren't Married in Canada and he still believes he is proving that she is his Wife by supporting her.
He's been at this for about 10 years now. His reasoning is that he didn't want to be alone when he got old. He's 62 now, and I don't see this getting any better.
We've been gently prodding him to maybe look a bit harder at the situation...

Yes he does, that is until she dead bedrooms him and goes downhill multiple years into the marriage and after kids

My friend just proposed to his fat girlfriend who is always going to pricey bars and restaurants. She also had a hoe phase right before him
Dude was struggling to get laid before her. Boys, do not ever have this level of scarcity he never would have dated her if the girls he wanted wanted him.
This is a textbook blue pill relationship. Some men really do just find more happiness taking the easy way out and I will never red knight him.
He wanted this and he seems happy. Don't try to unplug men who want to stay plugged in. He is one of the many men who would become unhappy and jaded with any other reality to slave under.
