Welcome to The Hub. This is our welcoming tribe dedicated to introducing yourself, meeting new people, and learning about new tribes.
@MentORPHEUS I genuinely don't understand what you're trying to say. Independent corporations and unions do not have limits on how they spend money on political speech.
The only limits that exist are donations to political candidates.

restrictions on independent political expenditures by corporations and unions violated their right to free speech
There exists no equivalence between expenditures by corporations and unions wherein each member gets capped at $3,300 per election, and a single donor like Miriam Adelson or Elon Musk dropping $100MM each per election. This represents the baseline upon which we appear unable to find common ground.
...for those lurking, I'm (mostly) kidding about the above. I'm sick of the U.S. federal government taking upon itself the role of international peacekeeper, particularly given the American people generally want nothing to do with that shit.
Let the Middle East, Europe and Asia solve their own damned problems. Let the commies and the goat fuckers kill each other to their hearts' content. It's what they all want, and the only reason they hate us so much is because we got in the way of them doing so in the first place.
All I'm seeing is a bunch of loser countries and cultures being jealous 'cause we're so much better at dominating geopolitics than they are. China has a pretty impressive history, sure, but it's all confined to a relatively small corner of southeast Asia. The Mongols conquered a lot of territory but lost it all within a couple decades. Islam did pretty well for a while, admittedly, but never got anywhere near properly conquering it's only real rival in European Christendom.
The British, by contrast, ruled over a literally globe-spanning empire, the height of which lasted a full century. The economic and cultural empire of the U.S. is no less impressive in its own way, though it admittedly hasn't lasted nearly as long.
@Vermillion-Rx Vermy discovered internet porn and we're just never going to get his full attention ever again.
Give me your personal number so I can send you screen shots of the ridiculous shit @Typo-MAGAshiv says throughout the week while youre away.

@ whoever is running around downvoting every comment I make on multiple posts… I’d be mad too if I had a 3 inch schlong and had to sit when I pee
@MentORPHEUS Brother, you know I love you, but you're killing me on this one.
The rationale behind Citizens United v. FEC hinged on the First Amendment, as the Supreme Court ruled that restrictions on independent political expenditures by corporations and unions violated their right to free speech. The decision was based on the principle that political spending is a form of protected speech under the First Amendment.
You keep marching into the weeds about how unfair $100 million is, or Elon, or Trump, or foreign money or corrupt politicans are.
I have been doing nothing but trying to establish a baseline which you and I can agree upon in order for us to debate the specifics. And you refuse to answer the question.
You cannot address $100 million from Elon until you address the free speech question.
You can't argue about the fairness of any of this until you first address the core issue the Supreme Court ruled on: free speech.
I haven't gone off the rails, brother. This train never even left the station.
